Food piramyd

The importance of healthy eating is a crucial component of physical education. Eating a balanced and nutritious diet is essential for maintaining good health, energy levels, and overall well-being, which are all key factors in physical activity and fitness. Proper nutrition can help students to perform better in physical activities and sports and reduce the risk of injury.
In physical education classes, students can learn about the different food groups, recommended daily servings, and how different foods affect their bodies. They can also learn about the importance of hydration and how to make healthy food choices when fueling their bodies before exercise and for recovery after physical activity. Teachers can incorporate healthy eating messages in their lessons, make connections between physical activity and healthy eating and provide opportunities for students to practice healthy eating habits and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
By encouraging and promoting healthy eating habits in physical education, students can develop a greater understanding of the link between diet and physical activity and make positive choices for their long-term health and well-being.

Pre-mobility activities in Italy

Today we have explained to our students participating in the mobility in Italy how to make presentations. This activity helps students understand the local culture while giving them the opportunity to practice their public speaking skills and design presentations. These should include personal information about the students, such as their age, occupations, hobbies, etc., as well as facts and data about the culinary traditions of Extremadura.

The partners were looking for a way to commit to improving the eating habits of the students, and we accepted the challenge of keeping a food diary. Over the next week, participants are required to record every meal, snack and drink they consume. It is important that they are honest with themselves and write down everything they have eaten, no matter how small. We have told them not to cheat or hide information, as this will not help to achieve the overall result we are looking for and will ultimately distort the final result. They can choose which day to start on, but remember that consistency is the key. Keeping a food diary will help them be accountable for their eating habits and also give them a better understanding of what they consume each day. It is an effective way to track their progress and make necessary changes to their diet.

Challenge 2: Creation of a cookbook with dishes from all participating countries. As part of this challenge, students from each country are asked to compile different recipes (at least one per category) to be included in the book. The recipes must be accompanied by a photo of the prepared dish and a photo of the student participating in the process. To make the cookbook complete and interesting, we will divide the recipes according to type, such as starters (Mario Bonilla), first courses (Olalla), main courses (Mario Sánchez), side dishes (Alejandra) and desserts (Nerea). The recipes can be typical dishes from each country, favorite dishes and recipes using leftovers. This cookbook will not only allow you to explore international cuisine, but will also provide an opportunity to learn about the unique flavors and ingredients used in different countries.

BROADCASTING ON SCHOOL RADIO #1

In the school hall our Radio coordinator, Lourdes López, set up a mobile stand for the school radio. From there, a very nice activity takes place, which we describe below.

Lourdes López, Mª Luisa Dávila and Juan Antonio at the RadioEdu stand (Hall of the centre).

During the whole mobility week our students Nerea Capilla and Mario Mateoswere the reporters of RadioEdu, our innovation project on school radio, coordinated by teacher Lourdes López López. They performed like two true professionals and interviewed teachers, guest students, our multilingualism advisor Ana María del Mazo and political authorities such as Antonio Fernández Osuna and Susana Fajardo. Below we invite you to click on the button and listen to the radio programme which is the result of our effort, commitment and collaboration.
We hope you like it!

BROADCASTING ON SCHOOL RADIO #2

On Friday 3 February all mobility participants attended a live programme on the school radio presented by Lourdes López (radio coordinator) and Juan Antonio Rincón. The benefits of the activity are numerous. Among them we can mention the following:
  • Disseminate the experience to all our educational communities.
  • Stimulate debate on mobility issues: activities, moments, gastronomy, sightseeings...
  • Improve speaking in a foreign language (English).
  • Fostering teamwork skills.
We invite you to listen to the radio programme.
