Selection and preparation of transnational activities

Transnational activities are short-term exchanges of pupils and teachers. In our case, the pupils taking part are those enrolled in 5th and 6th grade, the latter being a priority as they are in the last year of primary school. In the 20/21 academic year, lists were made of students from these courses who wished to participate in transnational activities. These did not take place for reasons of force majeure caused by Covid-19.

At the beginning of the academic year 21/22 a letter was sent to the families of the 6th grade students to inform them that the mobility activities were resuming and we asked them to fill in a questionnaire reiterating their wish for their children to participate in the mobility activities. All interested parties were invited to an online meeting on Thursday 21 October 2021, where we explained: What are transnational activities in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme? Programming of mobilities for the academic year 21/22. Number of students participating in each meeting. Selection criteria.

The above steps resulted in a list to which the criteria indicated in our application were applied: financial situation, learning difficulties, social situation, sensory problems and foreign language proficiency. A single list was created for the two Erasmus projects and the students were assigned to the mobilities according to their position. Ties were resolved by the marks of the final evaluation of the previous year in this order:

1. Bilingual Natural and Social Studies. If the tie continued, see point 2.
2. Instrumental Areas: Spanish language and Mathematics.

Once the ranking had been completed, all the families of the candidate students received a letter via the Rayuela educational platform, informing them that the process had been completed at the School Council meeting held the previous day. The lists with the final scores were displayed on the school's notice boards.

Below are the steps we follow when students are selected to participate in a transnational activity:

1. Official communication by phone call and/or email message through the Rayuela platform.
2. Creation of a Telegram group to maintain quicker contact between teachers and families.
3. Face-to-face meeting with families to explain and give detailed information on: teachers and students participating; accommodation; travel route (round trip); Covid certificate and measures; necessary documentation (ID card, passport, European health card, police authorisation and vaccination certificate); clothing and footwear; medication; communications from students and their families; luggage; programme; etc.
4. Signing of the Agreement by the parents. Inclusion in the programme implies acceptance of the programme's operating rules and the fulfilment of the agreed commitments. These are: To welcome pupils from the partner countries if the pandemic circumstances allow it; to accept the use of the pupils' images always for educational and non-profit purposes; to accept participation in dissemination activities (radio, television programmes or talks) and to allow their dissemination for educational purposes on the project's web pages and social networks. Information is also provided on: illnesses, treatment and protocol; meal adjustments for medical or religious reasons; and indication of any accessibility needs (reduced mobility).
5. Signing of a contract on the use of the children's mobile devices.
6. Publication on the Internet of the students and teachers selected for the activity.
7. Preliminary activities to introduce the participants.
8. Subsequent activities related to the dissemination of the results.
